spring fever

Last Friday the beau called me while I was at work to ask me if he could take me on a date. Of course I said yes. I adore dates! In perfect date night form the beau arrived home "late" from work so as to provide me with ample getting ready time. He knocked on the door to "pick me up" and imagine my surprise when he was carrying my very own vintage (ca: 1970's bike)!!! I've been wanting to meander around on the paths behind our apartment. Then imagine my further surprise when he said he'd be right back up to get me and he appeared with a charming bouquet of daisies. Not just any daisies - but the perfect pristine white non-gerber variety that I adore. Daisies are splendid! I don't know if my subconscious was anticipating the bike or the daisies, or if it was just the 70 degree weather but I was really longing for spring which was reflected in my date night wardrobe:

dress: Old Navy
boots: minnetonka moccasins
purse: vintage ralph lauren
earrings: forever 21
ring: handcrafted and purchased on a trip to Israel
flowers: the beau

what i wore: bubble bath

Tonight I took advantage of some of my Christmas gifts (note: still have yet to receive desired vintage fur objects from last post). The beau's sister, who knows of my fondness for organic skin care, gifted me with two very perfect skin treats.

Ginger Float Creme Bubble Bath-
which literally feels like cashmere atop bath water and A Perfect World Intensely Hydrating Body Cream with White Tea Extracts which is, in my opinion, one of the best lotions on the market. It is incredibly moisturizing and contains antioxidants. The two products combined left me with a bath experience that was a slice of heaven. Literally.

I recommend buying up both immediately.

what i want

Dear Santa:

You did not deliver.

As you know I am inspired by and obsessed with the 1970's. I simply cannot live another year without a vintage mongolian lamb fur vest and long shaggy goat fur boots.

Please make sure to check your list twice and send these down my chimney so as to provide holiday cheer for years to come.

Signed,
I still believe in you, but only if I get the goods

hard candy christmas

First, I'm now consciously trying to integrate quirky faux fur into my wardrobe wherein quirky is defined as obviously fake. I need the distinction. If I wanted a snow leopard coat, well, let's just say maybe I had one in a former life and maybe in this one the perfect estate sale will present itself.

Second, let me introduce you to my favorite moccasins. Vintage minnetonka and technically owned by my mother. I've been borrowing them for three years now. I love them. These were purchased at a lovely flea market - Ola Padreta - which is now closed. They were purchased alongside the original pink moccasins which I have now purchased two replacements for in my normal adult size 5 mocassin foot instead of my kindergarder size whatever. But back to the white moccasins. They are perfection. The ankle zipper is the perfect zipper length and a nice old metal type. The fringe is fun and just the right length. My favorite parts though are the hand stitching and lack of hard sole.
